Our family has been in the thoroughbred industry for over 28 years. Originally from Orville Ohio, the Butzer’s moved to Woodford County in 1997. My mother and father, Barry and Jan Butzer began our beloved Sun Valley Farm.

Settled right next door to Woodford Reserve distillery, the limestone waters passed through our fields, which not only make for smooth bourbon, but fast racehorses too. Over the years on the farm we bed and raised over 200 stakes horses and 20 graded stakes horses.

In 2018, Brett came home from music school and began working full time again on the farm, which eventually led to the creation of our thoroughbred nursery tour. Brett along with Jan and occasionally, Barry would welcome visitors from all 50 states and over 20 countries to learn about our family breeding farm operation.
